11 years and finaly the diagnose me ?

okayy so to be honest ive been through the diagnostic proceeding 5 time at CAMHS , they screwed me up four times its only been this time they said theres definatley something then last monday they drop a bombshell of aspergers , ocd and depression. yet the last time they said there was nothing wrong with me i was just going through "phases" . does anyone else have opinions on CAMHS ?

took them 10 years they said I had a language disorder for the first ten years of my life.

I've been diagnosed three times over the years and I have doubts whether I am actually autistic or not...

Interesting.  It took six years for them to correctly diagnose me.  But anxiety/major depression, and AS is the correct one.

I was orginally diagnosed with minor aurtisim, and two years ago aspergers, by some top professor of the field, then a other professional desputed that. The condition as a whole is still very miss understood, dealing with the problems though rather the lables i feel is more important.

Sometimes you need to know whats wrong with you specifically so can work with it although autism and aspergers are labels at least having the label will help you to get the best optimum help that you can get.  The only thing dont let the label DEFINE YOU

Diagnosed for about a year now, it just explains certain things really such as why I used to struggle with those reading comprehension tests at primary

Been having issues of various sorts for a long time; just now, in my mid-thirties, have I been given a doctor's diagnosis.  Previously, it was excused or called depression, anxiety, no foundation for what I was experiencing.  It is frustrating, but at least I can start now.
