I will be going to college this fall, tbh, im having mixed feelings on it, i just think i make things worse than they need to be (anxiety).  at the same time, think it will be good for my social life (i dont get out very much, if at all, for weeks).  i am so used to be isolated, that i may end up embarrasing myself, any suggestions?

Remember, I am speaking as an NT.  However, there are certain universal guidelines...they apply to all.  First, with the anxiety...by being in top physical shape...your stress hormones are lessened...your body and mind are relaxed.  Concentrate on being moral and living your passions and dreams.  You will be confident and happy.  That naturally attracts people...and even without others...you will be happy.  Study everyday...always keep ahead of the curve...you will never feel frustrated this way.  Know that you are doing the right thing in life by advancing yourself.  Act conservatively...be a good listener and observer.  People respect those who are aware of their surroundings enough to know when to be quiet...they also love being around good listeners.  Of course...eat healthfully and get good sleep.  No harmful drugs (alcohol included).

By living these general rules...(You must live them...not just know them)...I can't see how you can fail in life.  Live well...by doing these...you won't need luck.

Hi Jordan,

There are going to be times when you are stressed and there are going to be times when you feel overwhelmed or embarressed, but that isn't the end of the world. It is a daunting experience, but it is an excellent opportunity to absorb new ideas and meet new and interesting people. I have a lot of very good memories from my time at college/university and I wouldn't change those experiences for anything.

It will take you a while to adapt, but it won't be as bad as you think. Everyone else starting college will be a little overwhelmed by it too, so you will be in good company.

College is always a good chance start a new slate with yourself and life. It's not like school, or work. People are there mostly because they want learn or like the subject they are studying and have better things to do than judge others. Also if your very self concious about how you fit in, you could use this as a oppertunity to try a new hair cut, or dress different and meet new nice people.
