This is the time when new forums die. It is imperative that you contribute!

For me, I am waking up. I've got a personal efficiency expert at work. Shes advising me on how to eliminate stress at work, do my job more efficiently. I thought it was just useful for low functioning people, but i can see a benefit for all people, even NTs.

The benefit to me is more energy in my personal life. I am getting back into my interests and hobbies rather than needing to sleep off the effects of interacting.

But I think shes a little lost too. I am much more functional than she is used to dealing with.

Anyone work with one of these people?

I want to share something with you: The three little sentences that will get you through life. Number 1: Cover for me. Number 2: Oh, good idea, Boss! Number 3: It was like that when I got here.

I don't like the suggestion that I'm somehow less of a person just because I don't want to do what everyone else does.

Job coach might be a more simple term.

Here in Australia there are job agencies for people with disabilities. I was in one for a while and had my case manager got to where I worked to make sure I was ok there.

I am used to handling everything on my own, it was strange to know that someone was there just for me. I just didn't know what they could do to help me. Later on I realised that my case manager could help me by letting my supervisors know that I didn't like changing jobs halfway through, leaving something unfinished or letting someone else take over. I also preferred to come in to work and do the same thing every time to start off the night straight away rather than wait for someone to tell me to do a different thing every night. It just made things more...comfortable?

I am glad that I now know what to ask for in future jobs. I know it can be difficult for autistic people to know exactly what would help them in employment.
