My life is an absolute mess and I've bitten off more than I can chew. I'm thinking of removing the board because of my inability to maintain it due to personal problems.

Get your life sorted out first fiona and then once things become manageable again then look at starting up this board again.
Some words of advice though.

1.  Dont rush through solving your problems just so you can start running this board again you will create more mess for yourself.  If it takes you 10 years before you can run this board again then so be it.
2.  Dont rush through your problems for us do it for yourself your the most important person to you and you cannot help us unless you get yourself sorted out. So totally focus on your own s*** dont worry about us.
3.  You are a wonderful human being for creating this message board for letting aspies and other high functioning autistic spectrum disorders to communicate to each other and you have done a wonderful trying to give us advice so dont feel guilty because you cannot be much help to us at the moment.  We have god, family, parents, friends, associates aspergers organisations, other mental health organisations, 12 step programs and MANY other message boards such as wrong planet, and videos on youtube we can find alternatives.
4.  Talk to your dr about your diet medication ect to get the best program for you
5.  Try things like yoga, meditation and maybe even martial arts to help centre you and help you focus.
6.  Try to get to know better more systematic systems of organisation such as diary and that to help focus and move.
7.  IF new zealand has a pension system which it should be like australias then get family to help out the filling out process of the paper.
8. if you need to sleep for a day then do that becaus e thats what your body needs

Totally agree, you come first, the board comes second.  Pick your battles and do whats RIGHT for YOU!  Good luck and take care!

I just noticed this forum has become infected with mega spam.  This has become a problem on just about every forum.  This isn't your fault, but, maybe it's time for a new direction!

Peace

Awww! My heart goes out to you!  I know that feeling well, Fiona.  I only hope you get better soon, and can put your life back together.  My personal life was getting chaotic too for a while, due to trying to come off my meds; that was a stupid mistake I won't try again.  I'm back on them now.  But you have helped so many here; therefore I only hope for the best for you.  Take care.
