I have never liked talking on telephones, in fact I am worse on the telephone to someone  than I am face to face, as I find there are a lot of pregnant pauses where I am pretty sure I should be saying something, but I don't have a clue what the something might be.

Personally I would happily live without a phone if I could get away with it. Unfortunately I am "On-Call" for work pretty much 24/7, so I have to have a phone on me at all times. The only small mercy is that my organization uses blackberry's (at my insistance), so I can email rather long and detailed messages to collegues without actually having to speak to them.

My future father-in-law is addicted to the phone and he phones all of the time and for the most part, after I hang up I still have no idea why it was he phoned in the first place. I vaguely recall todays 10 minute session being about a cricket player from the 60's being interviewed on Radio 4. I don't listen to Radio 4, I don't like cricket and I wasn't alive in the 1960's, so why would I be interested in a very one sided 10 minute discussion about it?

I really wish I could throw my phone away! lol

I don't mind them, they're nothing bothersome to me.

I turn into a little child on the phone ... people often laugh at me for being so lame.  I just hate having to negotiate with a voice that has no face.

Apparently if you smile while talking on the phone, the other person can feel the positive vibes.

In this day and age everybody should use email: telephones are obsolete.

I agree 100%. Work is issuing Iphone 4 next year which supports video calls. I can't say that is something that appeals either to be honest lol

I HATE phones. Even my best friend from college knows not to call me, because I never pick up. I'm trying to get better at it though.

Telephones annoy me. Even their ring annoys me. Not because of the noise, but the fact it's trying to force social interaction onto me.

This one time an Englishgirl phoned me up to offer me some rubbish work (which I didn't bother with).  But she was giggling and behaving all sexually, and was obviously the office flirt.  Looking back I should have flirted with her because it's quite sexy when you get someone on the phone who is dripping with sexiness like that.   LOL
