Should be a big hit, popular game, free to play and persistant world...

Media | Age of Empires Online

I've been playing the beta for a while now and it isn't bad. The full release will be out within a few months.

I don't like real-time violent games.  It's all about lame-ass rushing.  Gives me a 'sensory overload' and not in a pleasant sense either.  Now Civ5, that I do like.

I like Civ too, in fact I have been a big fan of Sid Meier's work since the mid eighties Smiley

Looks interesting.  I used to play AOE 2.  I didn’t like the rushing either, I played the michi and other maps that let you build up to the Imperial battle.

Graphically this AoE online looks very fine ... and FIraxis are making a version of Civ for Facebook.  So I think in the future many people will be playing quite sophisticated games using nothing other than an internet browser.  Smiley  (Or a Nintendo of some description.   Roll Eyes )
