Samba makes a pretty good file sharing OS, a cut down version is what many home made NAS boxes use, FreeNAS I believe.

As for the USB drives, which protocol are you using to share them?

Oh and he forgot to mention that Redhat is one of the versions of Linux that isn't frei.   Wink
