Just to keep the members up to date with whats going on in terms of bannings.
Remission has been issued a 5 day ban for personal attacks. Others - Please don't continue to get nasty like this on here. I will be making the callout forum in its own section soon with warnings about offensive posts so it will be a more flexible forum. The rest - no childish insults please.
You can not like peoples posts, but tearing the actual person to shreds is not acceptable.
In future if anyone has a problem with someones post, instead of retorting like a 13 year old schoolboy, please report it.

Remission has been issued a 5 day ban for personal attacks. You know it's really not in good taste to publicly announce member bans, however I suppose since it's a small community and everyone is aware of his behavior that it's bit more acceptable in this case.

usually its not a big deal in saying who got banned, its actually a good thing to remind people that there is some order in the forum. usually whats a foul is if the ban resulted from a matter of a private personal nature and that thing was leaked out.

Well lets face it fiona is the shreffif in these parts and she needs to lay down the law every now then or when its necessary so making a public example of somebody like remission is a good way of letting people know what there not to act like

If you don't think its in good taste no-one is forcing you to post here.
I've been on forums for 10 years, and I think its a lot better to be open to the public especially in regards to well known members instead of sweeping it under the rug like WP does, and acting like it never happened, then everyone else wonders what happened, why they were banned and wtf is going on. Half the time when people have been banned wrongly - at least here you can contest it.
So in other words if you've got a problem with it go somewhere else.

Generally, I like it here, there's a tighter sense of community, and it's not overwhelming like WP. With that said when I see something on a forum I don't like I will state my opinion on it, like you I am very opinionated. There was no need to get defensive, I was just giving you feedback. I realize it's your forum and you can do as you please, but when I state my opinion on something don't take it so personally, I wasn't attacking you or this site. Take my opinions with a grain of salt.

When I was an admin. on aspergianisland, I made it a point to make it public who I banned and why. So that members could express their pro's and con's on the issue. Before I did that the owner of the site would ban with no warning or message whatsoever. I considered this counter to free speech and honesty. Then she decided to get rid of the site with no warning. And as a point of interest, she made me an admin. WITHOUT telling me that she was doing so or even ASKING ME. I did my best, under the circumstances and tried to be fair and impartial. <sigh> All that got me was a big fat ZIPBUPKASNADA! That is something I will never do again. People suck, NT AND ASPIE! In the end there is no difference!

The purpose of this thread was simple transparency to save numerous threads in the future with people questioning what is going on and why. It seemed simpler to keep it all in one place.

That's the best way, rather than scatter announcements all over.

As of today Remission has been permanently banned from the forum. As many of you are aware he has had a couple of temporary bans in the past and we feel we have given him every opportunity to become part of this community. Recently there has been an escalation in the number of complaints against Remission. Without going into too much detail, we feel that we have gone as far as we can in accommodating him.
