I found the learning environement really enjoyable but I feel that tafe is better for me and if your wondering what tafe is for those who are not from australia its basically a technical college.  TAFE means Technical and Futher Education.  Some tafes do degrees in this country and they are on the increase.  But anyway I still loved the alternative ways of looking at things

A long time ago in a galaxy far...far...away (the joke police just fined me for that terrible joke) I went to the University of South Florida to major in mathematics and minor in music.  I enjoyed commuting back and forth, but I did try to avoid crowds when I could.  Even though I was nervous in a classroom setting, these were the days before online classes, so you had to do what you had to do, even if that meant going to an actual classroom.  I remember seeing the last dinosaur failing my introduction to abstract algebra class; just kidding.  Have you ever had roast dinosaur?  Quite delicious - that is what he got for trying to eat attack me after attempting to steal my notes.   LOL

Dr Jolly (my shrink) told me to go to uni but unfortunately I didn't take his advice.

I am currently attending University. I had to go close to home though because my family needs me. I actually received scholarships to some pretty nice schools, but i had to turn them down, such is life.

I really enjoyed Uni, in fact up until a copule of years ago I  have been a part time student more or less constantly since 17. I'm giving serious thought to going back for a Phd next year if the finances stack up.

If I am going to get a degree it will be from a tafe college they are so much more supportive then university but just waiting for tafes that do degrees to do a degree in horticulture.  What did you get fiona.  I did university from 2003-2009 on and off.  2003-2004 but debt got the better of me and then 2006-2009 but alcoholism and I lost my drive for university after a couple years of working off the debts.  So I was dropping out most semesters and only passed one subject in that time(2006-2009).  Now off the booze and back studying at tafe.  I prefer my tafe

The bolded; I would dispute that. TAFEs don't care, the University I'm at has actual support through their Equity office, it's helped me ALOT.

The TAFE near me has Hort. degrees.
