Different types of intelligents

I have noticed that human being tend to look at each others intelligences as being inferior to each others.  Some people are very intellectual and some are very practical and some are inbetween.  Whats your thoughts on this.

Intelligence is a very difficult thing to quantify and there are many different types of intelligence. It always makes me squirm when I here people put down because they aren't good at specific things. Academia for example; exam results tell you only the smallest detail about someone (they are good or bad on a specific subject), but it doesn't tell you anything about their interests, passions or the way they percieve the world around them.

I think for that reason IQ tests are fundermentally flawed, as they simply test logic and special awareness.

I think I understand zenemu.  When watching the big bang theory which I really enjoy although some of scientific stuff goes over my head.  You see how intelligent Sheldon is and how brilliant he is at physics and as a theroitical physist but other then that he has obsoultoutly no emotional empathy or even emotional/social awareness.  But it also shows different types of intelligences such as pennies down to earth common sense and social awareness, lenord seems to be the most social aware of all of them(4 the guys that is) and hes the shows most well rounded character and somewhere between penny and sheldon.  Ragh is funny and Howard is just like a recently banned person who use to post on this website

maybe off really but I think of memory and wisdom when I think of this. memory for remembering things, then wisdom for well... applying this knowledge or I guess you can say applying what knowledge the person has to acquire information s/he has no memory of. people are a combination of these two I think.

Me, I am poor with memory - so I compensate through technology and other means. Wisdom however, I think isnt so easy to compensate for... unless of course youd just get another wiser person to help you...

I cant send you any more of those message at the moment I have exceeded my pm until 1 hour from now.  No I dont want to do football I am too old for it now If I was to start I should have started in my early twenties or when I was a teenager.  But touch football would be good.  I do jujitsu and boxing I think thats enough

Whats touch football... it sounds perverted. You should teach me some jujitsu, but of course thats if you can defeat my judo - coz if you cant I would be the one teaching you.

I used to do judo as well but I have only done jujitsu for a year and I did judo for a year and half when I was 16-17 and I did a small stint again when I was 19.  Judo comes from jujitsu but judo I see is a more specialised form of jujitsu.  Depending on how long you did judo for and how high in belt you went I think you will be the one teaching me.  Hope to learn wrestling in the future as well I love grappling.

Speaking personally I would say that I have never been able to view myself in a positive light. But I think that in my case it's due to my experiences as a child and my frustration over the years at not knowing what I was doing wrong. This makes it very hard to judge something like my own intelligence in a positive way; so yes I always think others are more intelligent than me - amongst other things.

However I do notice that when involved in something that I am actually interested in, things do seem to flow more smoothly for me. But even then if someone compliments me about my supposed intelligence whilst involved in such a task, I'm unable to take it seriously.

I agree with Zenemu; it's a very ethereal thing intelligence and it means different things to different people. The mainstream conception of intelligence is based on one's ability to sit down, shut up, and soak up all the information thrown at you. Why that is seen as a positive thing beats me. Everyone excels at something that others do not. Find you passion and follow your dreams; as someone once said.

touch foot ball is a tag version of rugby league over here and rugby is very different to gridiron in america.  Its just one version of football we play over is rugby league and australia also has its own version of football.

I am the great eternal witch, I do not need this intelligence! My magic is enough to make whatever I wish become a reality!

Wisdom is a type of intelligence I think

Wisdom is the ultimate purpose. You can be as intelligent as anything and still not have an ounce of wisdom.

I was once told by one of lecturers at uni who has an aspie sun that I was developing wisdom.  He explained what it ment back then but I forget now.
