They're really similar for people who live outside Australasia.

TBH I can't really tell the difference between a US accent and a Canadian one. All I know is the Canadian one is less harsh. The same applies with Australia and NZ.

To us though they are completely different and an Aussie talking in NZ stands out like a sore thumb.  LOL

When i first heard Zane Lowe's voice i don't think for a second i thought he was an Ausie so the answer's no.  However i have got the South African accent confused with NZ. 

My question is, does anyone get English and Scottish people mixed up?

Yeah, I often get English and Scottish people mixed up, and sometimes even English and Irish people mixed up.
