I just went back to England

I left England in 1996. I just went back for 2 weeks and it was cold and miserable and incredibly expensive. It felt weird and I was out of place.
I saw an aspie guy I met on the internet in Birmingham and we had a couple of cups of tea and parted our ways. It was nice putting a face to his internet persona. He seemed so normal.
I met a couple of old buddies who don't seem to have changed and one said they might come down here for a visit.
I was welcomed back by the people here. They are really nice.
I sat next to a woman on the plane who was here to see her b/f. She is a social worker. I told her I was aspie and she asked the stewardess for another seat.

getting use to drinking tea again .  Feel for you for what happened on the plane its probably that she deals with problems like that all the time and wanted to have a break from it as opposed to feeling like you were some kind of freak.  In other words she may have been a bit worried you gonna talk her ear off about your problems and because she deals with it all the time she just want a break from it.
