If so, how do you handle distractions (ie: radio, phone/texting, food/drink, makeup, cigarette, fiddling with their GPS, and other things people commonly do while driving)?
Also, if so, what kind of car do you have?

I came from a country where there are no such things as traffic rules, even if you get pulled over all it takes is a bribe worth $4 at the most.

Here, things are different.

Anyway, the fastest ive gone is only 190mph, because that is the very upper limit of my car.

Distracted? I dont think I can drive that fast and survive if Im easily distracted...

OOPS I made a mistake, its not mph its km/h. so in mph thatd be roughly 115 only hohohohohohohohoh

I do drive but haven't in over a year as its too expensive in this town.

Radio is ok.. changing cd tracks. I stop if I want to change the CD. Food, Drink, Texting and makeup are all done while I'm not driving. It's illegal to text and drive in this country and for good reason.

I learned to drive on a farm I worked on when I was a kid and by the time I was 13 I was building bikes and competing in motorcross competitions, so I suppose I have always driven. I love riding motorbikes, but I find driving in general to be a real chore these days. I drive out of necessity, it isn't something I enjoy.

The UK isn't a fun place to drive - far too much traffic, prohibitive laws, speed camera's everywhere and stupid road layouts. I actually know a civil engineer who designs road intersections and motorways (highways) for a living - he doesn't have a driving license.

It would seem that NZ and england are no different from here from the point of view in the way of road regulations and speed cameras.  Yes thankfully australia is a Bloody big country(where the only country that is a country, contienent and island all in one go)  And there is plenty of room to drive and we dont have a big population neither.  But the cops like to set up speed cameras in areas where it is hard to avoid not going the speed limit or in difficult angles its moslty just revenue raising over here Angry.  Over in america they drive on the wrong side of the road so how can americans be considered safe drivers LOL(only joking nie Tongue)

It is difficult to get figures on how many speed cameras actually exist in the UK - many of them are "Average Speed" camera's which monitor your speed over a certain amount of miles and are hard to spot others are fixed and are supposed to be signposted and there are also mobile vans with radar guns waiting around every other corner.

Just over 1.8 million speed fines were issued in the UK last year. When you consider that we have a population of just under 62 million with just over 31million cars on the road, that’s a  hell of a lot of money. It doesn’t really matter if you are a careful driver - you will be fined for speeding at some point if you drive regularly enough. It makes the local police forces quite a bit of money.

Why, yes; I do drive, and have done so since the age of 16.  Do I drive well? um...not in the beginning - sound of car crash (four accidents, all my fault...lol), but I'm now a very safe driver.  I own a 1998 Dodge Neon (please don't laugh - I am poor, and doing the best that I can).  I change radio stations frequently, and play CD's in the car.  Music is critical to me.  Someday, I'd like to get a tank with a cannon so that the other drivers can stay out of my way.   LOL

I passed my driving test first time, and I'm comfortable with listening to the radio or CD. I don't eat, talk on the phone or use satnav when driving. It's illegal to talk on a hand held phone while driving in this country.

I've driven a manual car as well as an automatic. I don't suppose many Aspies have driven manual cars.

I've been told I'm a rare breed.

I drive, but I don't go too far away from home, and I won't drive into cities. I live in a region with the worst drivers in the USA ( DC/Maryland), so sometimes it's a little crazy on the roads . I tend to just drive rural roads and some suburbia/small towns these days, but I used to use the interstate at times, but only in daylight. The drivers in southern PA are MUCH better than the DC/MD type, and since I hardly go anywhere, I'm just in that area and just below the line in rural MD.

Now when I was 15 and got a learners permit, I was terrified! I was scared of driving, but I went to a driving school and then later got my lisc. I really didn't drive till I was 21 after I was given prozac for my depression. Then suddenly I felt so good I started to drive, and even got a used chevy s-10. You know there was something ODD about me- nearly all teens can't wait to get their lisc and start driving. Me- I was scared! I also recall when my mom first made me walk to a store by myself at age 12 or something. I was also terrified over that! It was a combo of being alone where people would notice me, and me worrying about pedophiles or something. Nowadays, this whole thing has morphed into " I don't want to go anywhere without my gun" LOL. That is pretty easy to regulate though- I can only do that over in PA. MD forgot that there is thing thing called the Bill of Rights, and in it is this amendment called #2 that states that the right of the people to keep and BEAR arms shall not be infringed. They even snub their noses after the Supreme Court of the US said it is an individual right and it refers to the states as well as fed gov't ( DC). This is why lawyers are needed...
