Hi Aspie Paradise: what's your favourite colour?

For me, my favourite colour is green.  I seem to gravitate towards/obsess over most shades of green.  If I see something green I will visually fixate on it, while everything else becomes less salient.  Because other colours have suddenly become less salient, anything green in the room will stand out at the same time, and I will have a silly little surreal sort moment where I'm just simultaneously admiring all the green objects in the room.

It's a bit silly because green is so attractive to me that it makes me make big purchases JUST because they are green.  My iPod is one of those (about $300 at the time).  I named my iPod (Deleske) just because she was green, and to this day the name means "green," not "iPod" to me.  BTW - I really REALLY really REALLY like aspie paradise because it's such a greeny theme.  LOVE it.

Oh, and I bought my first pair of dark-slash-pastel lime-green shoes (for real) on Saturday - not because I need any more shoes, but because they were green!  (Um... digression: pleasantly green shoes are hard to find.  The most common sort of green shoe is a brash sort of green.  Hard to explain what I mean about brash green - sort of #00AA77-00BB66? in hexadecimal - it's just really obnoxious and in-your-face and .. yeah maybe it's just really common!)

Anyway, these ones are a pretty green.  I've worn them twice since Saturday and they have just made me smile every time I look at them Smiley  I've done a lot of staring at my shoes, haha.  Not when anyone else is looking though!

Ummm I doubt this is COMPLETELY an aspie thing, Wink.  Who else has a favourite colour they want to share?

my fav colour is pink. And after that, purple!

I like most colours though, they're cool in their own way.

^I have heard black referred to as the absence of colour.

Grin My blog is green and purple.

Some colours look awesome just because of where they are and then I appreciate them more than I would usually. I don't really have a favourite colour.

In light it is an absence of colour, but in pigment it is the King of all colours. Since light is only visible when it lands on an object... and objects always have pigmentation (even water has pigment - it is very very pale blue)... then Black rules... it soaks in light because it is the fullest of pigments.

Black is my favourite colour Grin

Yeah, exactly. The colour we see on objects is the result of that part of the light spectrum being reflected back, which means the object absorbs the other colours. Black absorbs them all (which explains when black objects get hotter than other coloured objects when in sunlight). White has very little, or no pigment and so reflects all light (which explains why white objects are the coolest in sunlight)

I'm colour blind, and get a lot of my colours mixed up. I would have to say green, as I have no problems with that colour. Plus it's the predominant colour of nature, and I love nothing better that communing with nature, it soothes my savage breast. Grin
